With its parks, broad streets and lovely boulevards, Nijmegen is an amazing city to spend time with. The city is also known with its Old Town, left-wing politics, amazing nature and of course the huge population of students since the Nijmegen University is also famous. Located in the South, Nijmegen is very close to the German border. To reach this amazing young city, you can fly to Eindhoven Airport which is 60 km away from Nijmegen or fly to Düsseldorf Airport which is 110 km away. From Amsterdam, it is also possible but the distance is 135 km, so you can either take a bus ot train to reach the city from there. To travel this bike friendly city, you can either rent a bike from central station or take a bus.

The most Dutch thing to do in the Netherlands is probably cycling. So right after you rent your bike at the Central Station, you can cycle on the wide cycle path at "The Crossing" Bridge. This big bridge is the third bridge in Nijmegen ang got its name ‘The Crossing’ (De Oversteek) from a heroic military action in World War II !

To get to know more than 2000 years of history of Nijmegen, your second stop must be "The Valkhof Museum". This museum at the Kelfkensbos avenue has lots of artifacts from the Roman era. But not only that, you can also find a massive collection of modern art and temporary exhibitions of lots of artists as well!

To shop locally and also international shops, you have to visit Molenstraat and Burchtstraat! Also don't forget to shop for souvenirs and taste the amazing Stroopwafel !

When I think about the Netherlands, the first thing always comes in my mind is that how amazing the nature is! And it is the same case in Nijmegen too! If you want to be in nature and calm your thoughts while taking a walk, you have to visit the River Waal! If you want to get lost in every shade of green and see the cute animals, you have to visit the Kronenburgerpark. This 19th Century park has the most romantic landscapes and medieval walls.

If you have more time, you should visit the city Doesburg which is not very far away from Nijmegen! At there, you can get to see museums and many monuments, the main court and the Doesburgse mustard factory !

As I said before, Nijmegen is very famous for its university and young student population. And we all know that, students know how to party! It is not a secret that, Nijmegen has the best nightclubs and party avenues! If you love techno music, many concerts and electronic parties, you have to check out Merleyn. For acoustic, electronic concerts and parties, your choice should be Doornroosje! Great artists like Pink Floyd, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead and Green Day have played in here before they became famous!

If you want to check out the very picturesque and very popular pub, you have to go to the "De Blaauwe Hand". It is also the oldest pub in Nijmegen!

And lastly, of course, weed. The best coffeeshop is the Kronkel Coffeeshop and Cafe, which is also very famous for its cocktails and drinks. But I have to recommend you the milkshake since it is THE.BEST.MILKSHAKE.EVER! It is also the perfect place to chill with your friends and have a great time.
