Advent in Zadar - joy, music and food for everyone

We've just started to count the days until the Christmas. It looks like the summer ended up yesterday, and we are already thinking about the New Year's Eve, and the holiday's atmosphere is easily coming to our lives. Croatia might be among the best summer destinations, but its coastal cities are magical even in autumn or winter. Zadar is perfect for your summer holidays, but its joy, music and food can lure you to this year's Advent in Zadar. 

In the very beginning, one huge thank you to all the amazing people in the Zadar Tourist Board! The city of Zadar is a place of magnificent history. Zadar is the place with the best sunsets that even Mr. Hitchcock loved to see. In the Zadar region, you can taste amazing Dalmatian wine and eat delicious ham and cheese. Croatia had and still has great singers and groups. This year's organizers of the Zadar advent decided to put all those above-mentioned in one place.

Advent in Zadar is organized in various locations: Trg Petra Zoranića, Kampo Kaštelo and Višnjik ice-rink. The program is rich with concerts and street performing happenings. What makes this Advent great are the workshops for kids, educational workshops for everyone and an inevitable Santa Claus that will make this event even more Christmas-ish.

What makes one advent really great are food and drinks (besides music and Christmas decorations, of course). Zadar will greet you with many street stands filled with food from all the Croatian regions. Boiled wine is a must. Last days of the year are a bit cold, so the hot wine is the perfect "tool" to get warm. The Wine together with some sweets next to the Adriatic Sea, with the Christmas decorations, should be magical and special.

Another and maybe the most important thing is that you will be welcomed by the smiling locals. That's what makes this region, this city and this festival unique. Zadar and its people are the best hosts you will ever have. And of course, they will be smiling from those small stands, that spread beautiful smells and sell tasty specialties, when you will ask for more. 

The gastronomic offer is huge. During the Advent in Zadar, you can try food from each part of Croatia.  So, the wine will heat you up, the food will give you the energy and the music will move your body all day and night long on the Zadar squares. Every year in the end of November until the beginning January the joy, music and food of Advent in Zadar are waiting for you.
