A new entry on the only encyclopedia that offers you the complete list of beaches in the summer side of Portugal - the Algarve coast! There is a lot to see even in the first kilometers of its northernmost parish, Aljezur. Even if you don't reach the sand, just following the seaside trails can be a great experience! You can find the list of beaches below, and a few highlighted places that will give you a taste. Let's get to know them!
This is the second half of sandstrips in the Aljezur coast. These provide a wide range of options that please everyone, from huge extensions of sand, to small creeks under the cliffs, untouched beaches filled with pebbles, ancient ports turned into tranquil refuges... there is a little bit of everything. And to top it all off, fantastic sights throughout all of them!
Praia da Pedra da Agulha
Praia da Pedra da Agulha and the nearby Praia do Canal are two inviting beaches located south of the Pedra da Agulha islet. There isn't much sand here, instead there are pebbles filling the shoreline which offers calm waters. If that doesn't bother you, this is a fantastic spot to peacefully enjoy the seas and the sights of the coastal atmosphere of Aljezur!

Above is on of the most popular beaches of Aljezur, Praia da Bordeira! It sits in the same area as the river mouth of Ribeira da Carrapateira, offering a sandstrip reaching both fresh and sea water for everyone's enjoyment. Naturists are at ease here, and so are watersports and snorkeling adepts. Also, you just can't miss the amazing views that the nearby cliffs provide.

Another summer favourite of this parish, Praia do Amado has a very long sand area, inviting waters (especially for watersports fans), under a chain of cliffs and mounts that allow for great vistas of the coast and the sandstrip below. This is a great choice for those who enjoy a big beach with all the activity you can expect in a popular summer spot, but it is very worth passing by all year round!
