Motovun

I already wrote about Motovun, a medieval town and a film festival venue. When in Istria, and if you are into long walks along green paths, this is one of the must-visit towns. It is for sure a symbol of Istria's mainland. Once you visit it, it won't be the last time. You will come back over and over. From the foothill of the town, you will need about ten minutes climbing along old streets, and you will find yourself surrounded by walls of an old fortress and the stunning view. From one point, you can see the Valey of Mirna River, a stunning art of nature. From the other side, the view goes across wonderful vineyards. Take a deep breath and enjoy. You are in heaven. Trust me, all these landscapes will continue to show up, one after another...

Pazin

If you thought your adventure ended in Motovun, and that you saw all the wonders of Istria, wait a second. Only 30 minutes ride south from Motovun, you can reach Pazin, the heart of Istria. From the 19th century, the center of Istria county is in this small place, but it is not the most recognizable town because of that only. Pazin has something you can rarely see somewhere else - the remains of an old castle, situated above the 130-meter deep valley. At the bottom of the valley, a river called Pazinčica flows in the shape of a waterfall into the Pazin pit. 

This will give you a really once-in-a-life experience of nature miracles. If you love to explore the miracles of the underwater world, you can go with an experienced diver above the water. And if you are an adrenaline junkie, feel free to try the zip line above the valley. Either way, this trip will be truly memorable. Pazin, the very center of Istria, is a speleologists paradise since many caves are located in this area.
