I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just need an escape from the busy city life so that I can relax and get in touch with nature. Taking a break from the speed and technology that surrounds us every day can recharge your batteries and put the things into perspective. One such place, found in Sinaia, the heart of the Carpathians and Romania, is Escapade Adventure Park – Cumpătu. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities meant for adults and children alike, where one can be a daredevil and relax in the beautiful scenery at the same time.
Escapade Adventure Park Cumpătu, Sinaia
Strada Gârbovei 27, Sinaia, RomaniaActivities to enjoy
There are many activities one can enjoy at Escapade Adventure Park. One can find here the only Monkey Tree in Romania. If you are not familiar with the concept of the monkey tree, it is basically the activity of climbing on a trunk of a tree. In Sinaia, one can climb a 15-meter-high tree trunk using the special grips mounted on it. The view from the top is breathtaking. The way down is much easier and is done by a rappelling rope.
Another fun activity is climbing an 8-meter-high wall. Similar to the Monkey Tree, one climbs the wooden wall using the grips mounted on it. There are three difficulties, and once you’re up there, only a 4-meter-high Cat’s Ladder stands in your way so that you can rappel down a 90-meter-long zip line.
The main zip line is 200 meters long and consists of three segments. The first one takes the adventurer at high speed from the ground to a 25-meter-high platform. The second segment offers the birds-eye view of the forest road, and finally the last one brings the climber back on the ground.
Other fun activities here are the climbing routes, where one has to walk across ropes and wooden planks. There are four difficulties ranging from 74 m to 236 m in length and from 1 m to 25 m in height. Similar to the climbing routes, Escapade Adventure Park – Cumpătu offers a military route, which consists of crossing a variety of obstacles as fast as one can. The current record is 40 seconds, and everyone is trying to beat it.
The treasure hunt is a team-building exercise I enjoyed the most. Each team receives a map, coordinates and a compass, and they have to navigate the wild terrain of the mountains to get to the next clue and has to solve it quickly because only one team gets to find the treasure at the end. Another team building exercise is the paintball court, where teams have to work together to get the upper hand.
If one finds himself here during the winter, one should not miss the opportunity to go tubing. The activity is similar to sledding but done on rubber donuts, which increases the speed one reaches. In winter, the possibility of an off-road adventure is always available, so just remember that the park is open all year long.
Things to do nearby
If one has the time, I definitely recommend to take the opportunity and admire the surroundings. One landmark that will take your breath away is Peleș Castle in Sinaia. Nature lovers will opt for the Babele Complex or the Bușteni town with its many attractions. Don't forget about the Sinaia Casino, as I am sure you will visit it over and over again.
Beautiful landscape of the Carpathian Mountains is second to none, offering fresh air and an escape from the asphalt jungle of the city. So, I can only encourage you to be a daredevil at Escapade Adventure Park – Cumpătu in Sinaia, Romania.
