I was only nine years old and I remember the specific day when I was excitedly waiting for the school and classes to end, so that I could meet my uncle. Why you wonder? He promised he would take me to try out the best pancakes ever, and he wasn’t lying. After classes were over, I was literally jumping my way out of the school. My uncle and I walked around the beautiful area of Dorcol. As we were approaching the magnificent interior of Palacinkarnica Glumac, the excitement was rising. The fact that this was a secret kept only between the two of us, since my mom would definitely disapprove eating sweets before lunch, made the whole adventure memorable. As it was spring, we were seating in the beautiful garden full of greenery and flowers. My uncle ordered for us the most famous speciality – pancakes with Eurokrem(cream vaguely reminding of Nutella, but better) and Plazma(famous Serbian biscuit). I was finishing my juice and patiently waiting for the plate of pancakes to arrive.

From the moment I have tried one bite of that delicacy, everything became kind of blurry. Whether it was because of the amazingly kind staff, who packed almost whole unfinished pancake for me to take it home (yes, the portions are big) or because of the mind blowing stories my uncle was telling me, the whole experience remained so beautifully memorable for me. I always recall it with a huge smile on my face.
