Are you tired of museums and sightseeing? Feel like buying a few goods for your beloved ones and yourself in the capital of Europe? Here are the top 5 shopping streets in Brussels where you can shop ’til you drop.

5. Rue Antoine Dansaert

Located in the center of Brussels, the Dansaert neighbourhood is a main point considering fashion and especially the regional one, as the majority of the featured boutiques are hosted by Belgian designers full of creativity and new ideas. Near the company of the canal, you can find a wide variety of restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy the worldwide cuisine along with the national one.

This is also a prime neighbourhood to make for your base while exploring Brussels. If you're curious about where to stay, for those travelling on a budget, check out Sleep Well Youth Hostel. This is an affordable and friendly place to meet new friends and staying close to the main sites. If you're travelling with a companion, then L'Auberge de l'éclipse makes for a spacious, clean and cosy stay.

My personal favourite stay in Brussels is Le Vaudeville, which is literally only 20 metres walk from this shopping street, on top of feeling so luxurious without breaking the bank.

4. Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert

Being both a shopping street and a sightseeing district, the royal galeries are worth a visit even if you do not get to buy anything. Definitelly not for a casual shopping experience, in this street you will find some luxurious shops as well as some of the most expensive and high quality chocolates in the world.

3. Chaussée d’Ixelles

Selected as the second busiest shopping street of the city, Chaussée d’Ixelles never let's you down when it comes to getting what you want. Home to stores devoted to fashion, decoration and leisure, you can find anything you imagine there. Walk all the way and you will encounter a neighbourhood charmed with African mom and pop restaurants, shops full with afro products and a barrage of colours.

2. Avenue Louise & Toison d’Or

The city's fanciest shopping street is located just some minutes far from the center. In the first 500m you will encounter the most luxurious fashion stores and boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co, Dior and more. After passing this block, there are the casual shops where you can get something on budget. And because shopping getts tiring, you can relax and enjoy a meal in some of the restaurants around.

1. Rue Neuve

Brussel's biggest and busiest shopping street with an average of 43,000 visitors per day, located in the heart of the city. Hosting a variety of international brands, makes it the ultimate destination for all budgets. In the same street you will also find the 'City 2', a shopping center that adds more variety in your options. If you feel overwelmed from the crowded atmosphere, there are plenty cafés and restaurants where you can relax.

No matter your budget, Brussels is a city that offers a very big variety on those things you can get as a memory from your travel there. Plus, you have the opportunity to combine shopping with sightseeing, as many of the buildings are worth a visit. Just let youself get lost in the streets of Brussels and enjoy the city as a local.
