Best fine dining restaurants in Bratislava

3 minutes to read

Slovakia doesn't have a Michelin-starred restaurant yet, but any of these fine dining restaurants are pretty damn close to becoming one! If you are looking for an exceptional gastronomic experience, here is a list of the best fine dining restaurants you can find in Bratislava. All you need to do is to pick your favorite, make a reservation, put your fancy clothes on, and enjoy the best of the best.

UFO

If you plan to visit Bratislava, UFO Tower is probably on your to-do list anyway. So why not make it more special and have a fancy dinner on the top of the tower? Fantastic view, excellent service, and top class chefs will make your visit worth it. Interiors of the restaurant have a very modern and minimal design that compliments the design of the futuristic UFO Tower. In the a la carte TASTE menu, you can find international and Asian-fusion cuisine. Degustation menu also focuses on traditional Slovak cuisine, which will go even better with a glass of wine or a cocktail.

Savoy

Restaurant Savoy is located in the heart of Bratislava. The central location is an essential part of the vibe, that's why the interior is decorated with historical photographs of the Bratislava city center. Savoy pays special attention to local and seasonal products. Everything you can see on your plate comes from Slovak farms, forests, and lakes. All the meals are carefully prepared, with an emphasis on the traditional cuisine with a modern twist. Every Sunday, there is a special lunch menu if you prefer a family atmosphere in a less formal setting.

Houdini

Houdini is a very chic fine dining restaurant, named after a Hungarian actor Harry Houdini who immigrated to the United States. Harry Houdini was known for his adventures and unbelievable life experiences, such as running away from prison. The slogan of the restaurant is: "The magic of wine. The art of taste." This tells you a bit about the restaurant and their emphasis on the importance of the wine pairing. The main chef, Michal Škrabák, has had many experiences, and he was able to learn about culinary art along with the Michelin-star chefs across Europe. You can choose from a la carte menu, lunch menu, or tasting menu. For the authentic fine dining experience, I suggest a tasting menu.

Albrecht

This restaurant has a long tradition, and since the very beginning in the last century, it is a popular restaurant in Bratislava. Why? The owners were the established winemakers, known for their hospitality. Albrecht Restaurant offers international cuisine, and the view is just amazing. The building itself is also a historic national landmark and is located in the castle area where you can find many embassies nowadays. If you feel like you don't want to spend a lot of money on a fancy dinner, but still want to visit the place, from Monday to Friday, there is a lunch menu cooked by the same chefs for a wallet-friendly price - 13 euros. But, an actual fine dining experience comes with a degustation menu in the evening. Don't worry, even though it is considered a gourmet experience, you will feel like home.
