The Côte de granite rose (The Pink Granite Coast) is a magical place in Brittany where you will see life through rose-colored glasses. This area is known for its unusual rock formations, magnificent landscapes, sandy beaches, seaside resorts, lighthouses, harbours and islands. One of the most beautiful and most incredible corners of Brittany, the Pink Granite Coast stretches for more than thirty kilometers from Perros-Guirec to the Lannion Bay. Pink sand and incredible rock formations

If you want to explore the Pink Granite Coast, then I recommend you to start your journey at the Trestraou Beach. This is one of the three beaches in Perros-Guirec, especially popular for swimming and sunbathing, and perfectly suitable for families with children. With more than a kilometer of fine sand, this place if perfect for a catamaran, kayak and windsurfing lovers. Continue your visit from the Trestraou Beach by following the GR34 - old customs officers' path, made in 1907, that leads all along the Pink Granite Coast. Along the way, you can admire massive piles of rocks, some as high as 20 meters, often improbably shaped and balanced in the incredible positions. Also, you can see a lot of interesting spots, like the remains of the 17th-century coastal defenses and a beautiful lighthouse made from the pink granite. Following the coast, you will arrive in Trégastel, a beautiful seaside town where you can spot very interesting examples of megaliths. After visiting the prehistoric monuments of Brittany, don’t miss to go to the point of Bihit. From this point, the view is incredibl because you can see and admire the Lannion Bay. Going down along the coast, you will reach Lannion. This quiet and small town is more than charming. You will probably fall in love with its cobbled streets, timber-framed houses, its mansions, churches and flower quays.

A paradise for seabirds

Classified as a nature reserve and a bird sanctuary, the archipelago of Sept-Îles consists of seven islands and islets. Officially transformed into a wildlife sanctuary in 1976, in order to protect the birds, those islands are the most important nesting site and a home to the largest colony of seabirds in France with 27 species, including France’s largest colony of the gannets. The gannets make an impressive show for bird watchers as they are occupying every square inch of the Rouzic Island. But there are not only birds to admire in the archipelago of Sept-Îles. Here, you can also see a colony of seals taking pose on the rocks. And then, make a stop at the Île aux Moines. This is the only island of the Sept-Îles where a visit is allowed. In summer, there are regular boat trips from Perros-Guirec to the Sept-Îles. So, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Côte de granite rose (The Pink Granite Coast) where you can see life through rose-colored glasses!
