Lori is a province located in the north of Armenia....

With Vanadzor as capital and largest city, the region borders Georgia to the north. If you like history and culture, spot one of the UNESCO-listed sites: Haghpat and Sanahin monastery. If you prefer wandering in the nature, stop around Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Alaverdi, Dsegh or the river of Dzoraget and Debed. The mild summer climate and green forests attract a lot of people. The province also counts 3 natural protected areas: the Gyulagarak Sanctuary, the Margahovit Sanctuary and the Rhododendron caucasicum Sanctuary. The Vanadzor Botanical Garden is also a major destination that should not be missed.
