The capital of the province is Ijevan. Main reasons for visiting the region are its cultural heritage and natural monuments. Dilijan is one of the most touristic destinations. It is known for its sanatoriums and mineral water. If you like old villages, make a stop in Achajur, Gosh, Teghut or Yenokavan village. Dilijan National Park, the Akhnabad Taxus Grove Sanctuary, the Arjatkhelni Hazel Sanctuary, the Gandzakar Sanctuary, the Ijevan Sanctuary and the Zikatar Sanctuary are listed among protected areas.
