Aysén del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo

The Aysen del General Carlos Ibanez del Campo region, often shortened as the Aysen region, simply the Aysen and sometimes Patagonia, is situated in the southern part of Chile, and it is composed of many islands and archipelagos as well as the mainland....

Its climate is very extreme, with cold waters and strong winds, and its territory is shaped by many glaciations which led to the creation of many lakes and islands. Home of many natural reserves, this region is often visited by tourists because of its stunning nature: dramatic fjords, aqua-colored lakes, overshadowing mountain peaks and vast steppe. Because of its extreme conditions, this region is very sparsely populated, and it is in fact the least inhabited area in Chile. Still, many tourists say they would have wished to call it home, as their trip there made them connect to their inner self and senses… and a truly unforgettable and enriching feeling.
