Šibenik-Knin


Sibenik-Knin is a county located in the southern part of the Croatian coastline. It borders Bosnia-Herzegovina on the east, as it also has an access to the Adriatic Sea....

Sibenik is the capital of the county, but also the oldest native Croatian town on the shores of the sea. Located were Krka river meets the Adriatic Sea, the city of Sibenik is not only beautiful because of its location but also for the monuments that people built through the ages, such as The Cathedral of St James, with its Gothic Renaissance architecture, part of the UNESCO programme. Another monument, part of the UNESCO programme, is the fortress of St Nicholas, located on an island in front of the city. The old town also has its own fortress, like the St Michael’s Fortress. With more than 240 islands the county is full of hidden beaches and creeks to chill and tan.
