Capital Region

The Capital Region of Denmark consists of the municipalities of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg....

There are several lakes, the deepest in Denmark being Furesø, northwest of Copenhagen. The forest park Dyrehaven is just north of the capital in Gentofte and Lyngby-Taarbæk. Dyrehaven is noted for its mixture of huge, ancient oak trees and large populations of red and fallow deer. It was one of the three forests included in the UNESCO. North Zealden is full of beautiful nature and pristine Danish beaches. Head inland to walk in forests, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of King Christian V's royal hunting grounds. North Zealand is an ancient playground of royalty, full of famous castles like Frederiksborg Castle and Kronborg Castle, home of Shakespeare's Hamlet. But do not forget Copenhagen, Northern Europe’s cosiest capital.
