Southern Finland lies by the coast of the Gulf of Finland and it’s home of the capital of the country, Helsinki....

Some of the most important cities in the region are Hämeenlinna (Tavastehus) and Kotka. Before leaving do not forget to visit the Suomenlinna fortress, the old town of Finland's second oldest city, Porvoo, the Bengtskär lighthouse and The Finnish Aviation Museum. Along the activities you can choose from cruising along Saimaa Canal, hiking along the Salpa trail in Kymenlaakso or shopping at Itis, the largest shopping center in Northern Europe. For the more intellectuals, it is highly recommended to visit the Mannerheim Museum, house of a Finnish statesman and military officer, where you will have the opportunity the learn about the finish history. Also, get lost in The National Library of Finland with a free entrance and a wide variety of books.
