Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti

The capital city of the region is Ambrolauri located on the River Rioni. If you head east on the Rioni river you will find the city of Oni, center of the Georgian jewish culture. However the city of Oni is mostly the departure point of all the hiking and climbing in the north of the region. Nearby there is also a big national park named just like the region, Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Planned National Park.
