Saxony

The Free State of Saxony is a landlocked federal state of Germany, bordering the federal states of Brandenburg, Saxony Anhalt, Thuringia, and Bavaria, as well as the countries of Poland (Lower Silesian and Lubusz Voivodeships) and the Czech Republic (Karlovy Vary, Liberec and Ústí nad Labem Regions)....

Its capital is Dresden, and its largest city is Leipzig. Saxony is particularly sought after by urban and cultural tourists. Families, sportspeople and holidaymakers who care about their fitness are more attracted to the medium-sized mountains and regions dominated by heathland, ponds and rivers. Particularly rich in castles and palaces, Saxony is one of the most beautiful regions of Germany, both for its architecture and its natural landscapes. Leipzig is one of the capitals of classical music, where Bach, Schuman, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Mahler and von Weber worked. Dresden, with its incomparable baroque and rococo historic center, could be the most beautiful city in Germany.
