Rajasthan

Stretched over the northwestern part of India, Rajasthan is by far the largest Indian state. Bordering Pakistan on the western side, this part of India is among most visited states. Jaipur is its capital city....

The most attractive features of Rajasthan are its vast Thar Desert, also known as “The Great Indian Desert”, and the Aravalli mountain range. Popularly called the “Land of Kings”, this region is home to many Rajput Kings such as Bappa Rawal, Rana Kumbha, Rana Sanga and Rana Pratap. Hence, rich Rajput heritage is reflected in ancient forts, palaces and temples. Rajasthan is also renowned for its remarkably colorful architecture. The capital Jaipur is also called the “Pink City” due to its pink houses, while the architecture of the fortress-city Jodhpur is predominantly blue. When it comes to wildlife, besides the Keoladeo National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its birdlife, here you can find three tiger reserves – Ranthambore National Park, Sariska Tiger Reserve and Mukundra Hill Tiger Reserve. So, whether you are into gazing at the beauty of the golden sand dunes or exploring colorful forts, palaces and temples, this glittering jewel of India has something for you.
