Aosta Valley

Bordering France and Switzerland, this region in the far north-west of Italy is the least populous of the country....

Thanks to its history, both French and Italian are official languages here. It is a land of high mountains, with a range that includes some of the highest Alpine peaks, including Mont Blanc at more than 4,800 metres. Its ski resort at Courmayeur is one of the best loved in Europe. The region holds particular appeal for travellers in search of nature and authenticity.
