Mehedinți

Mehedinți is a county of Romania, at the border of Serbia and Bulgaria, and located in the historical province of Oltenia. Its capital city is Drobeta-Turnu Severin....

This county offers a very diversified landscape. From the mountains in the North-West (up to 1500 m), the scenery gradually changes to hills and high plains where the Danube flows forming a wide valley, with channels and ponds. Its main tourist destinations are: the city of Drobeta-Turnu Severin and Orșova, the ruins of Trajan's first bridge over the Danube, the Mehedinți Mountains, the Danube's Iron Gates and the Baia de Aramă Monastery.
