Eastern Anatolia Region

Eastern Anatolia is the easternmost region of the country. It borders Georgia on the east and Armenia, Iran and Iraq on the south....

The region is far from the sea, with mountains mostly and a continental climate. During the winter there is enough snow for skiing, and during the summer days it’s a great place for some hiking. Try and go to the Muradiye waterfalls and witness the amazing nature around. The west part of the region consists of steppes and the Nemrut Dagi mountain. This mount is part of the UNESCO heritage programme and has some interesting statues on the top of it waiting for everyone to wants to explore them. The culture and monuments that you will find in the east of the region are many, with the majority considering the old Armenian folks that used to lived here.
