So, cats. Why do people even love cats? For their charismatic look? For being cute? It could be both, but most importantly, cats bring calmness and harmony into the life of their owners. In a busy and routine life, it can be quite challenging to have a pet- not to mention other circumstances that could stop you from having one- like allergies or 'anti-cat neighbors.' What would you do if you could not have a pet but still wanted to spend some time with a cat? Welcome to Nur-Sultan’s best cat café, called Miki Piki, where you can enjoy a delicious dessert while being around cats.
How to get there
I would probably say that in this story, I am sharing my personal favorite and hidden spot. It is a rare and unique type of café in terms of Kazakhstani cafes. The café does not serve hot meals for lunch or dinner, but it can offer you some delicacies, freshly baked goodies, and hot drinks. It is located in the left bank of Nur-Sultan city, in a close distance to The Nur-Alem EXPO spherical museum and the biggest shopping mall of the town, the Mega Silk Way. It is a very newly built area: so is the Miki Piki, which was found in 2017.

A couple of years ago, the idea of opening the cat café came up to the minds of owners after visiting South Korea. The café bears the name of the ten-year-old cat named Miki Piki, which now lives in Almaty. You may find a photo of this legendary cat in the café in Nur-Sultan. It hosts about 14 breeds of cats, and they are all so different! Each cat has its name, preferences, and dislikes. The owners of the café are so hospitable and helpful, and as people who are really into cats, they will be there to guide you to the cat’s world by telling you interesting things about each particular cat out there.
Inside
The cat café is welcoming guests from Tuesday to Friday from 3 pm to 9 pm and on weekends from 11 am to 9 pm. Please keep in mind that if you want to visit the café at weekends, you have to call and make a reservation. On Mondays, they are closed. So, what will you get for 2500 tenges (approximately $7)? The price includes the entrance fee, two hours spent with cats, some goodies, and a hot drink of your choice. Within two hours, you may also enjoy some board games like chess, cards, PSP, as well as books. The place is equipped with cozy sofas and fluffy pillows. The café has many things that can be used to play with cats, cute tables, and a famous painting of Mona Lisa holding a cat. I will not say more, and I will leave the rest to be discovered by you.
Do not miss out on this unique and hidden place in the Nur-Sultan city. The place is definitely worth sparing 1-2 hours! Have your delicious dessert time with cats in Miki Piki cat café.
