Located in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, at the Northeast Region of Brazil, Pipa Beach is, without a doubt, the best and most romantic place in the north litoral. The reason is not only the fact that one of its bay's name is "Praia do Amor" (or so, the Love Beach), but also the "magic feeling in the air." The sunset is a plus in this scene, setting down between the hills and the ocean, just at the Dolphins Bay, where during the day, you can swim together with these adorable animals.

It is one destination that you definitely have to visit while in Brazil, especially together with someone you care about.

The village

Pipa Beach is a little village located in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, about 85 km from Natal, the capital of the State. Because its access is a bit difficult- only reached by car or a very tiring public bus trip- Pipa remains exotic and well preserved. Surrounded by an ecological park, you only have one option to get through the city center: the main street called Av. Baía dos Golfinhos (the Dolphins Bay Avenue). And it is precisely there where the magic happens.

This small cobblestoned street is the heart of Pipa. This is the place where you can find the best of the local - and international - gastronomy. Pipa is a paradise for those who like beaches and tranquility, and thus you can find lots of Argentinian, Italian, Spanish, and other residents, having the time of their life. Some of those international people own restaurants, offering a wide variety of food.

Plus, on this same street, you can find bars with live music, parties, happiness. During the day, it is normal to see surfers walking around, with their boards, on their way to the beach. At night, the street is closed to cars and gets crowded with people, drinking and listening to music at the bars. Making the ambiance even better, the distant sound of waves breaking into the rocks and the sea smell makes everything worth experiencing. It is this kind of unique experience that you have once in your lifetime.

The bays

Pipa Beach is itself a bay, with a sand counter creating a natural swimming pool. Very close to the village center, it offers more services to the tourist, like toilets, showers, and restaurants where you can eat good local food. From this main bay, going less than a kilometer to the south, you reach another bay, called the "Praia do Amor" (or so, Love Beach). A half kilometer to the north, you arrive at "Baía dos Golfinhos" ( Dolphin's Bay) and "Praia do Madeiro" ( Madeiro Beach).

Now, let me give you some advice about these three destinations. I will start with Love Beach: First of all, be extremely careful if you decide to get inside the sea. The waves are powerful, and the sea currents can be dangerous. There are no rocks or sand counter, thus the place is flashy for surfers.

On the other hand, Dolphin's Bay is very calm, with small waves and not too deep. This calm sea is the perfect place to swim together with the dolphins that come all the way close to the beach to play with the visitors. This is a place you cannot miss.

The next one is Madeiro Beach, a calm beach, very similar to the Dolphins' Bay, but less expensive. Since Dolphin Bay is more touristic, the food and services can be a bit overpriced. So, if you are looking for a chill place, not too expensive, where you can just enjoy the beach, I would advise you to go to Madeiro.

Sunset

In Pipa Beach, on a low tide day, I would say, go all the way inside the sea (the water will be up to your knees) and experience this beautiful sunset. Although, if you are willing to spend some money, go to the Mirante Sunset Bar at the top of the hill in Pipa Beach. The entrance usually is 40 reais (or so, 8 euros) and you can have some food or drinks there too. My advice is to be prepared to get there around 16h- after that, the place gets crowded, so you will not get a good spot.
