Goa beaches in India are truly God's blessings for tourists. One visit to these beaches and you will be forever lost in their beautiful memories. Popular beaches in North Goa, which is also the party hub of Goa, are Calangute, Anjuna, Candolim, Sinquerium and Baga. Baga Beach looks no less than a scene out of a dream with a wide expanse of the Arabian Sea, blue skies, excited tourists, and local vendors. Baga Beach remains quite busy except during peak noon hours when the sun's heat is quite unbearable, even though some brave-hearts can be seen sun-bathing on beach loungers, chilling with their folks and also engaging in water sports during that time. For me, it was slightly difficult, so I quietly went to doing what I did best: enjoy a chilled beer with French fries. In other words, fun & bliss begin here at Baga Beach.

The streets of Baga are usually bustling with foreigners. Interestingly, one can spot more foreigners (almost from all parts of the world) than Indians. There is something about Goa that makes tourists feel so relaxed and at-home that many of them end up staying here for months at a stretch. Some even rent Portuguese villas to experience historical life. A few restaurant owners I spoke to were from different regions of the globe, who had left their countries to settle down in Goa. They told me that the Goan life appealed to them so much that they started their livelihood options in Goa.

Food & nightlife

Tourists visit North Goa to forget their worries and experience the joy of just relaxing. This sensation is amplified when coupled with gorgeous sunsets, big pitchers of beer, seafood, and other drinks. People indulge in food and drinks, whenever they want and as much as they want, meanwhile as life goes by. That is the beauty of visiting Goa, enjoying a completely chilled vibe. There are many restaurants and shacks, catering to the needs of tourists as you savour the whole ambience and beauty of Baga Beach. Further, for vegetarians and vegans, there are plenty of food options too.

For water sports' enthusiasts

Many tourists visit Goa to experience the best of water sports activities which the place has to offer. Some activities such as parasailing, banana rides, and dolphin cruises are very popular. There are plenty of adventure agencies around Baga that organize these activities for tourists. You can also ask your hotel staff about more information as they usually have some tie-ups with travel agencies - so for lucrative discounts, you can try this out! I highly recommend the dolphin cruise as seeing dolphins dance to their tunes is quite a memorable sight.

Beach Sports

If water sports do not excite you enough, Baga Beach has ample of fun activities. You can visit the beach early in the morning and inhale the breezy air while doing yoga with enthusiastic yogis. Or you can spend time walking or jogging around the beach. People can also be seen playing volleyball and other sand games. Children can be seen digging sand and looking for water sources beneath with their plastic tools, a very cute sight indeed!

Something for every shopper

Whenever at Goa, do not forget to indulge in retail therapy. Plenty of trendy swimwear, bikinis, clothes for both men and women, rare jewels, accessories, hats, footwear, antiques, and knickknacks are available. Also, buy a fridge magnet that will constantly remind you of the Goan life and its rich culture.

So, if you have not yet visited North Goa, plan a trip soon. I say this from personal experience - until you do not visit Goa, you will not realize what magic you are missing out on in India. So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags, book your flight/ train tickets and head to Baga Beach in Goa, as fun and bliss begin here.
