120 years of quality beverages

The unique climate, fertile soil, relief peculiarities, and the nearby Dniester River made the distillery in Tiraspol one of the best companies of alcohol production in the whole country. Today, even after  120 years of existence and gained trust, KVINT continues to create quality beverages and alcohol. They use modern equipment and advanced technologies along with the unique recipes and creative approaches of the past. The origins of the Tiraspol wine and cognac company began in 1897 on Vokzalnaya Street. Firstly, it produced 40° grape vodka from the vines of the surrounding villages. The cognac was mass-produced only after 40 years of the distillery's existence, in 1938.

From Moldova to Asia and the Vatican

KVINT distillery has its own raw material base, and the area of its vineyards spans across 2000 hectares. On this land is where they cultivate more than 30 varieties of grapes. As well as many other wineries of Moldova, like Cricova winery or Purcari one, Tiraspol's distillery won a lot of awards and other dignities from the "Prince Wittgenstein Brandy Incorporates" and other great organizations. The KVINT company has 3 Super Grand Prix awards, more than 20 Grand Prix prizes and about 230 gold and silver medals for its quality work. KVINT distillery is one of Transnistria's largest exporters of alcohol production, as well as Moldavia's. The company's alcohol production gets exported each year to Italy, Asia (China and Japan), Russia, and Ukraine. Interesting fact: Tiraspol's cognac made its way into the Vatican and even into space!

The distillery pays special attention to preserving the best traditions in the alcoholic beverage preparation, and, on the other side, on making them as modern as possible. The significant part of the production of the whole company is wine, brandy, and cognacs (also called divines); which involve grapes. KVINT also makes vodka, gin, and calvados; which require wheat and apples as raw materials.

Divine tours

Because we talked about KVINT and I described all of the dignities of the distillery, let me also tell you that there are divine tours organized there. The distillery offers different levels of degustation. Each level has its price, timeframe, and quantity of alcohol served. The higher the level, the more expensive the tour gets. All levels can be seen on their website and include a tour around the KVINT distillery itself and a possibility to admire the key-steps of the production. You can be sure that the table with the food and the divine tastings are included in the cost of the tour. Tours and degustations are held from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 17:00. Note that If you are more than 30 minutes late, they will cancel the tour with no refund. Try booking the tour 5 working days before the degustation itself.

KVINT also offers wine tours which you can find on their official website. Being Tiraspol's and Transnistria's iconic symbol, the KVINT distillery is trying to make its production more and more universal, so that everybody can enjoy it!
