Located near the famous Côte de Granit Rose (the Pink Granite Coast), Lannion is a city with the exceptional architecture. Beautiful squares, cobblestone streets, timber-framed houses and mansions witness to the history of Lannion over the centuries. The estuary of the river Leguer crosses the historic city, and it is perfect for hiking and also for kayak lovers. From this city, you can easily access the old customs officers' path that offers an incredible walk along the Pink Granite Coast. Lannion is also a city in bloom, that has 115 hectares of green spaces and has won the Golden Flower award in 2015, a special prize of the competition “Des villes et villages fleuris” (The towns and villages in bloom). And that is not all! Lannion also has two beautiful beaches, where you can spend perfect summer vacations.

The best activities in Lannion

Start your visit to Lannion by climbing the famous 142 steps that lead to the Eglise de la Trinité de Brélévenez (the Brélévenez church), from where you will have an incredible view over Lannion and the river Leguer. Continue your tour in the old city center, where you can admire the most beautiful old timber-framed houses and mansions. Make a stop at the Église Saint-Jean-du-Baly (the Saint-Jean-du-Baly church), known for its tower constructed in 1519 and classified as a historical monument since 1907. But Lannion is not only the city that lives in the past. It is a vibrant place where you can find the Magic square (le Carré Magique), a national center of circus arts in Brittany. With 850 seats, this theater offers every year a multidisciplinary program for lovers of dance, theater, music and especially circus. Here, thanks to the numerous shows and the festival “Gare au Gorille”, you can discover a fabulous universe of circus.

Halles de Lannion

At the end of your visit to Lannion – a city in bloom, don’t miss to go for a walk between the stalls of “Les Halles de Lannion”, a hundred-year-old indoor market with fresh products installed in the Lannion’s historic center. From Tuesday to Saturday, in this truly charming place, you can get some fresh fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, and also Brittany’s worldwide famous – galettes. I recommend you to taste an ideal pancake at the “La crêpe idéale”! The owner of this place won the silver medal during the competition for the best pancake maker in Brittany in 2018. On the menu of this creperie, you will find "Ignace", a galette with bacon, mushrooms, cream and snail butter and "Honoré", a galette with onions cooked with cider and served with a salad. Bon appetit!
