In today’s world, shopping has become one of the main activities when travelling around different countries and cities in the world.  In Ljubljana, you won’t have a problem finding beautiful souvenirs, decorations, as well as fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories, which can become great reminders of your trip. Pro tip for your stay in Ljubljana, look for accommodations around the city centre that allows you to visit these streets easier. Now, allow me to suggest five of Ljubljana’s top shopping streets and malls, where you can go hunting for brand new goods.

Central promenade: Čop Street and Prešeren Square

Čop Street is a major pedestrian area in Ljubljana, also know after being the city's central promenade. There, you will find various stores with modern clothes, books, jewellery and a five-floor Müller, with a floor for each department like cosmetics, household appliances, music, gifts, stationery and more. Čop Street will lead you to Prešeren Square, where a luxury department store Emporium Gallery with the offer of international fashion brands is located. The store has five floors with a diverse selection of clothes, footwear, accessories and the biggest Desigual store in Slovenia on the top floor, with a stunning view of the Ljubljana Castle.

Shopping while sightseeing around Ljubljana Town Square

Besides being one of the main shopping spots in the capital, the Town Square (Mestni Trg) is also a popular tourist destination with the city’s Town Hall, the Ljubljana Cathedral and the Robba Fountain. Antique and gift stores, bookstores, boutiques and other smaller shops with lovely and authentic products invite you to enter. After you have finished shopping, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal at one of the charming cafés or restaurant located along the street. The Old Square (Stari Trg) is the heart of Ljubljana’s old town, and an extension of the Town Square, both being the oldest parts of Ljubljana with interesting stories and a pleasant historical atmosphere.

Short shopping at Wolf Street

Wolf Street is one of the shorter shopping streets in the centre of Ljubljana, located at the end of one of its central square, the Congress Square. Stores there mostly consist of extraordinary brands of clothes, shoes, and accessories. If you are in the capital and don’t have much time for in-depth shopping, taking a walk down Wolf Street to Prešeren Square can be a good idea, even if only for a little of window shopping.

Beyond shopping at BTC City Ljubljana

This is Ljubljana’s biggest shopping centre with more than 500 different stores. Because of its size, it is located a bit further away from the centre, at Šmartno Street and is a paradise for all the shopaholics. You can easily spend an entire day at BTC and, if your legs get tired of shopping, you can also have lunch or another relaxing activity there. The area also includes many restaurants and cafes, as well as entertainment centres, like a cinema, a casino, and even a water park Aqualuna. The famous fashion chain Primark, which is the only one of its kind in Slovenia, is also located inside one of the shopping centre's halls.

Nama Shopping Mall

Nama is an established department store on Slovene Street. If you would like to go shopping, but don’t really know what you are looking for, try Nama. It’s definitely on the list of Ljubljana’s top five shopping spots, where you will find boutiques with casual, as well as high-end clothing, stores with cosmetics and perfumes, accessories, and more. It’s like a small shopping mall in the centre of Ljubljana.
