A Veneziana

Arguably the first ice-cream shop in Lisboa, A Veneziana opened its doors in 1936, with immediate success. The original owner was Giovanni De Lucca, who left the italian Alps, hoping to sail from Europe to try his luck in America, but then decided to stay in the portuguese capital. In the early years, the ice-cream was sold in cars whose replicas make part of the decoration. The classic 'gelado' recipes come from a long family tradition, in a wide variety of cones, cups and other delicacies, and new flavours are constantly being produced, always using nothing but natural ingredients. Over time, the store grew, and nowadays there are several shops around the city, for the delight of the passerby.
