Among the rolling hills of the Cilento, the Agriturismo San Basilio is immersed in the typical quiet of the Cilento countryside, while being just a few kilometers from the most famous seaside resorts of the area, such as Palinuro, Ascea, Velia, Agropoli, Paestum. The old farmhouse has been recently rebuilt in respect of the typical Cilento architecture, and consists of eight rooms furnished in rustic country style, at the same time full of every comfort, to make any type of stay special. To give an idea, the structure has a large dining room dominated by a fireplace, and outside a beautiful pool for total relaxation. Thanks to its favorable hill position, the San Basilio enjoys a splendid panorama; surrounded by a large olive grove, offers its guests, among other things, the use of a wood-burning oven, barbecue, in the picturesque setting of old trees. The farm has existed and has been operating for over forty years, producing wine, oil, cured meats, dairy products and honey of excellent quality, which guests and visitors can also buy on the spot. The rooms all have a private entrance and a small shared patio where you can devote yourself to other activities or just relax. The surroundings, always surrounded by olive groves and rows of vineyards, are the ideal place for walking or cycling. Nearby you can take advantage of the services of various bathing establishments to spend a wonderful day at sea during the summer. The "San Basilio" farm produces wine, oil, cured meats, dairy products, honey, in full respect of natural life cycles. Cilento agriculture, in fact, respects a production method that takes into account precise rules, which are the foundation of the agro-zootechnical production activity, which allow to obtain quality products. Long before this form of cultivation became almost a fashion, they made it their own style of life and production. For this reason, after years of experience, the company is very proud to produce an excellent local wine, a highly prized cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, millefiori honey, dairy products and cured meats, respecting the great Cilento tradition. At the farm are also raised veal calves, goats, pigs that live in the wild. Given the love that the whole Mastrogiovanni family brings to nature, mushrooms, wild asparagus, chestnuts, pine nuts and more are harvested throughout the year. Mrs. Lucia still prepares bread in a wood oven, and the days of celebration are enlivened by her excellent homemade pasta dishes. To the guest who requests it, it is also possible to attend the stages of production, so as to better appreciate the quality and genuineness of the individual products.
