Antojeria Tica is a family-owned and operated local restaurant offering a wonder menú of healthy typical Costa Rican dishes ranging from the Costa Rican “casado” plate to Cordon Blu or Chicken Alfredo. We recommend it all. It’s located about 4 blocks down from the Alajuela courthouse and about 6 blocks from Central Park. A nice thing at Antojeria Tica is that they quietly and voluntarily provide meals to the homeless when they pass by. If you want to help, your generous donation of 2,000 colones (a little less than $4) buys a meal. By the way, “Antojeria” is the Spanish word for “cravings” and “Tico/a” is the nickname Costa Ricans call themselves. Internet is available. It’s not pricey at all and it’s a favorite spot for Ticos. © antojeriatica
