The 2000-year-old Roman Aquincum Museum and the romkert with its many attractions and programs await visitors from the Roman buildings and treasures through interactive games and activities to the enlivened Roman festivities!


Opening hours:


From November 1 to April 14: Exhibition: K-Sun: 10.00-16.00 Virtual experience: K-Sun 11.00-16.00 On Monday the museum is closed. In the winter months, the dwarf can be visited only in dry and non-slip weather.

The Aquincum Museum stands on top of the 2000-year-old Roman settlement in present-day Budapest. Budapest is the only European capital with such an extensive excavated Roman provincial town that is open to the public. We offer a detailed but accessible exhibition of life in the Roman provinces and our temporary exhibitions present some of the most intriguing artefacts of the museum's vast collections. For our younger visitors we also provide a number of exciting interactive virtual games.

1 November - 14 April: Exhibitions: Tue-Sun 10: 00-16: 00 Virtual Experience Room: Tue-Sun 11: 00-16: 00 The museum is closed on Mondays. During the winter months the archaeological park can only be visited in dry weather.

With Bus no. 134 (From Holy Ghost square, Buda side) to Záhony street bus stop With Bus no. 34 or 106 (From Árpád Bridge [Pest side]) to Záhony street bus stop With "Szentendre Hév" (H5) (From Batthyány square) to either Kaszásdűlő or Aquincum station (The museum is located between these two stations.)
