Athens Disco Kidz

"Athens Disco Kidz" is a recreational event with educational extensions aimed at children (+4) pre-school and school age. It is mainly a reason for fun with music, dance and play for the whole family. Our goal, but not an end in itself, is to cultivate aesthetic education and expression from a very young age and to create a fun space for children away from the stereotypes of ordinary playgrounds and standard entertainment. Both the musical and the pedagogical selection of the program is done with care, professionalism and respect for the child with the ultimate destination of entertainment. By choosing the concept of disco we mean the atmosphere we create at the party (disco ball, dance floor, photorhythms, microphone). What is important, however, is the social dimension of the shared musical experience that is formed when we all come together there. In contrast to the club concept, which is a more individual process, we chose disco to emphasize teamwork in fun and interaction between us. The Athens Disco Kidz DJ chooses suitable dance melodies from all over the world, modern and older, songs known or unknown, which are a call for free dancing and structured play. The animated pedagogue introduces the Athens Disco Kidz three-hour program inviting children to the dance floor, showing choreographies, explaining the rules of group games and regulating the flow of pedagogical and recreational activities. With the free participation of children, dancing and recreational activities aim to unleash the senses and feelings of children, to create real and fantastic moments as well as to develop the relations between body, space and fantasy through its experimental movement Dance and body theater. Non-invasive and out of predetermined aesthetic molds, children are given plenty of space to express themselves physically and discover ways of non-verbal communication, rhythmic motifs and dancing movements. Without second thoughts, without right and wrong, without hesitation, we rock, jump and improvise. Without any other reason, our dance and music travel to an endless feast of joy, free speech and exhilaration. Athens Disco Kidz is open to the general public but it is possible to rent the venue any other day including the Athens Disco Kidz musical choices and pedagogic activities for a private birthday party.
