The Bibi Ka Maqbara is a 17th-century mausoleum built by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for his wife, Dilras Banu Begum. Even though the monument resembles the Taj Mahal to a great extent, the depleting Mughal coffers at the time of Aurangzeb's rule ensured that the monument only remained a distant shadow of the Taj Mahal. The mausoleum, often referred to as the 'Taj of the Deccan', is a great instance of Mughal architecture.
