Description

The CAAM is a cultural institution founded in 1989 and dependent on the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. This art center, with free admission for all audiences, offers visitors a program of exhibitions, national and international level, and an intense agenda of educational activities related to contemporary culture. The main uniqueness that distinguishes this center is the Tricontinental vocation of their artistic practices and thought that revolve around Africa, America and Europe   The CAAM is located in the district of Vegueta, in the old town of Las Palmas. Its art galleries are located in the historic building of the street Los Balcones, restored by the architect Francisco J. Sáenz de Oiza, and in the Plaza de San Antonio Abad. It also offers an interesting Library and Documentation Centre specializing in modern and contemporary art and a shop with decorative items, jewelry or art publications, as well as a multipurpose hall for public events.
