Centro Guerrero

Centro José Guerrero whose function is to preserve, display and promote the study and dissemination of the work of José Guerrero, who expressed his desire to be his homeland the fate of the personal collection of his paintings, formed by those pictures that considered essential. Thanks to the generosity of the family, which made available to the Centre the collection, a set that allows us to observe the most representative stages of the author was selected.

The center, however, is not intended to be closed only in the work of Guerrero, but, inspired by the intellectual curiosity of the painter, he wants to be articulated as a public space in the host society by organizing temporary exhibitions and other activities that reflect the vitality of contemporary culture.

Centro José Guerrero attaches particular importance to the program of research, education and collaboration with other cultural institutions. In addition to his collection, consisting of sixty works by the artist, he has his personal file, as well as a library specializing in contemporary art.

Along with the guided tours of exhibitions, lectures given in schools themselves, educational material on José Guerrero and training courses for teachers, it should be noted the special interest of the Centre to project its activities in all the municipalities of the province.
