Chalet e Jardim da Condessa d'Edla

The Chalet da Condessa de Edla is located in the Parque da Pena, in a peaceful and lush green area that is perfect to spend an entire entire afternoon. The Chalet was built in the second half of the XIXth century by king D. Fernando II and his second wife, the Edla's Countess, as a private refuge for this couple of romantic sensibility. Its walls are covered with mural paintings, plaster, tiles and a distinctive use of cork as adornement. The park is rich in autochthonous vegetation and botanical species from all over the world. You can also have pic-nics, ride a horse and enjoy the waterflows by the shade.
