The Church of San Domenico was built between the years 1703-1727 to make it the conventual church of the Dominican Fathers of Noto. The monument dominates Piazza XVI Maggio with its majestic height: it is a true masterpiece by the artist Gagliardi, who inserted in his construction all the most typical elements of Sicilian baroque. In our day, the church is considered as the most representative of the Baroque of Noto, and not only: it is considered one of the most significant of the entire heritage of the late Baroque of Sicily
