The church dates back to 1398 and is dedicated to St. James, elected as protector of the traders of Udine, who carried out their activities in the square and is recognized by the stone shells that decorate the facade (symbol of the saint). The church was built at the behest of the Furrier's Brotherhood and dates back to 1398, but the facade was restored and the chapel added later.
