The Costa Nova do Prado beach, also known only by Costa Nova, is located on the west coast of Portugal, on the coast line of the Ria de Aveiro. It is located in the Municipality of Ílhavo, such as Praia da Barra, in the Central Region of Portugal. It had its origin in the opening of the bar of the Ria of Aveiro, from the year of 1808. The designation, it is thought, is due to two facts. The first, "Costa Nova", as opposed to the "Old Coast" (San Jacinto). Secondly, this is due to the fact that there was a huge green meadow.
