The church of Notre-Dame du Sablon is a religious building in the Sablon in Brussels. It was in 1716 that we find the first written record of the name of "Notre-Dame des Victoires", already used by the people at that time, based on the wrong belief that it had been founded to celebrate the victory of Duke John I at the battle of Worringen. The church of the Sablon has been the place of worship of the military gilds of the city of Brussels. This precious example of the flamboyant Gothic style so admired in Brabant owes its splendour to the city's Guild of Crossbowmen that built it in the 15th century.
