Welcome to the Kammerlichtspielen Celle.

Celle cinema has more than 100 years of tradition. As early as 1908, the first permanent cinema was opened in the Schuhstrasse with the Metropol.

In 1913, when the druggist Holle opened the "Kammer-Lichtspiele" in the old ballroom of the former Celler Gesellschaftshaus am Brandplatz, various cinemas already exist in Celle: since 1910, the "Central Theater Harmonie" in Magnusstraße has been operating alongside the "Metropol-Theater" on Schuhstraße and the "Eden" in Zöllnerstraße 35 their audience. In Celle's childhood days, one can certainly speak of a cinematic competition in Celle, which is advantageous for the audience, since the operators of the cinemas strive for the program design, the technical new acquisitions and the convenience of their theaters, the guests only the latest and Best to offer.

The "Kammer-Lichtspiele", now the only existing cinema in Celle, was taken over in 1928 by Annemarie and Otto Hildebrandt, the grandparents of Stephan Rissmann, and modernized in 1937. After the death of her husband Annemarie Hildebrandt continues the "Lichtlichtspiele" until 1965. Stephan Rissmann, who joins the business in 1950, has been directing the cinemas since 1965 and converts them into a cinema center with three halls in the seventies. In 1983, another hall, the "Chamber 4" opened. This cinema is conceived as a program cinema and should offer particularly good entertainment to young people and those interested in sophisticated film.

After two further conversions in the years 1997 and 2000, the "Chamber-Light Games" now offer six rooms a more extensive program in an even friendlier atmosphere.
