Laczkó Dezső Múzeum

As a county museum in Veszprém we talk about Veszprems about the world and we talk about Veszprems to the world! We tell stories and lives from the past, the present ... and the future: since History is the magistra vitae. The first finds of the most important and oldest museum in the county came to the collection in 1903, and from 1925 onwards, we are waiting for the visitors to visit the walls of the lush wooden trees of Erzsébet. The 330 000 collection of the museum encompasses the ethnography, archeology, history, art and applied arts and literature of Veszprém and Veszprém, as well as the collection of numismatics.

Spirit ... all the same ... on the spot ... in our permanent exhibition we show the cultural heritage of Veszprém county. In the exhibition we travel through time and space around the county, from prehistoric times to the present day, from Avars to our grandparents. Our oldest archaeological finds come from the fifth millennium BC.

Our Visual Library and KnowledgeBoxes are antique prints, hundreds of antiques, first edition XVII-XIX. century home of Hungarian literature and works of art, and modern-day filmmakers from Veszprém County, archive and contemporary film shoots.

Our temporal exhibitions provide art, ethnography, archaeological, contemporary, literary or even sport history exhibitions. Check out our current programs on our website.
