Manshuk Mametova Mountain Lake, Almaty

Manshuk Mametova Mountain Lake (in other words, lake number 6) is located 20 km away from Almaty city in the territory of Zailiskyi Alatau at the altitude of 3600 m above sea level. The name of the mountain lake is dedicated to WWII woman hero of the Soviet Union and pride of Kazakhstani nation. In fact, the lake occurred as a result of melting the glacier which is under the Manshuk Mametove Peak, therefore the lake bears the name of the hero.
