The museum, housed in the former Convent of San Francesco, consists of five rooms that can accommodate materials from the territory of Arcevia in a chronological arrangement. C in the room are the settlement of layered materials Cava Giacometti (covering a period from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age) and those related to the village deep sea of ​​Monte Croce Guardia age of the Late Bronze Age. The last two rooms are dedicated to hosting some grave goods from the famous Celtic necropolis of Montefortino. Identified already in 1892, the necropolis was dug between 1894 and 1899 by Edward Brizio who discovered 47 tombs for burial. The equipment exhibited in the Museum relate to tombs of warriors buried with their weapons and rich female graves.
