Md'I with seasonal programming, invites national and international artists to choose and present, drawing from their personal collections, works of others obtained through exchanges, gifts, acquisitions or partnerships.

artists of different generations are so called to reflect on their past and then devise an exhibition that highlights the relationships, friendships, meetings and sometimes the loves that marked special moments of their lives and of their artistic practice.

Situated above the fourteenth reservoir Fonte Nuova, in the Contrada della Lupa (one of the 17 districts of the city), it is the first and only example of coexistence between the international dimension and the contemporary strongly linked to tradition and territoriality, characteristic precisely the Contrade of Siena. Winter Museum is a project conceived and directed by Francesco Carone and Eugenia Vanni.

The meaning of 'museum' was born from the desire therefore to investigate a history of contemporary art more often unofficial, secret or unknown.

Based on this, Md'I also founded with the urgency of a necessary and long overdue enjoyment of art with the most appropriate and right time.

Parallel Md'I asks the artists invited to interpret and design a functional detail to be included permanently in the architecture of the museum itself, with the ambition of so complete it one day and transform it from container contents; from collection to museum, through a new client mode, precisely because ancient.
