Museum of Russian Icons is the first private museum collection in Moscow and the second on in Russia. Its large collection includes Byzantine and Greek items of VI–XIV centuries, works of the Old Russian art of XIV-XIX centuries created in different regions, and a section of Ethiopian Christianity. The museum was founded by a Rosgosstrakh manager Mikhail Abramov. Now it has an official status of a public museum and is a member of the IСOM (International Council of Museums). The collection includes about 5,000 works. The Museum of Russian Icons is free of charge for visitors.
