Muzeum skla a bižuterie v Jablonci nad Nisou

The museum in three buildings offers visitors a selection of the second largest collection of glass on the territory of our country and a unique European collection of costume jewelery. In no place in the world than just in the Jablonec Museum you will find a representation of imitation jewelery in the full range of technology and assortment.

The main building of the museum was built in Art Nouveau style at the beginning of the 20th century and can be found in the very center of Jablonec nad Nisou. It offers the best of the museum's extensive collections. At the permanent exhibition "The Endless Costume of Jewelery", you can admire buttons, coins, medals, jewelery, historical jewelery, spins and accessories from the unique collection of Waldes. The exhibition "The Magic Garden - Czech Glass of the Seven Centuries" records the story of the glass path from an anonymous goblet to a solitaire artist and presents not only luxury glass but also objects of daily necessity. An attractive selection of glass prizes and trophies from well-known competitions and polls, such as the prize for the winner of the STAR DANCE dance competition or the Golden Nightingale Lucie Bílá, can be seen. Recently, the glass exposition was extended by the Crystal Expo2, the most recent work of the iconic Czech art glasswork René Roubíček. You can also visit theatrical exhibitions, professional library, museum programs, creative workshops. The building also features public internet, a seating area, and small snacks.

The Glassworks Memorial in the Jizera Mountains, the last preserved building of the once most important glass-making village of Kristiánov, is another museum building. In the summer months, the exhibition under the name Kristiánov - The Key to the Heart of the Jizera Mountains introduces the history of the place and glass production. There is a model of the whole glass village. Every year, the first Saturday of September is the traditional Marian glass-making pilgrimage in September.
