Region around village is inhabited in ancient times. It was intense mining in that region, especially copper. Also there are number of quarries of grey soli, Umber and tera alba. It was estate of despots, probably destroyed by Saracens. Leontios Machairas in his Chronicle mentioned in that region raids by the Saracens during the reign of Janus of Cyprus (1398-1432).Oroklini and surrounding villages are abandoned in 15th century, then again temporary abandoned and again resettled in 16th century.In 17. century it is mentioned in Venetian documents as Vorochini (Goodwin).
