The lake Kobeituz is located about 160 km or, in other words, 1.5 hours away from Kazakhstan's capital city Nur-Sultan. The lake turned pink and was discovered in September 2019, which put Kazakhstan on an exclusive list of less than 10 countries in the world that also have this phenomenon. Thanks to the microalgae, the lake receives a pink color from the saline-water organism Dunaliella, the same species that color pink lakes in Canada and Australia. The lake doesn't have any other marine life, but it is good for having mud and salt baths.
