Rio Celeste (Celestial or Sky Blue River) (Spanish pronunciation: [cell-est-eh]) is a river in Tenorio Volcano National Park of Costa Rica. It is one of costa Rica’s most popular eco-tourism hotspots. Rio Celeste (Celestial River) is famous for its distinctive turquoise coloration that results from the merging of two clear water rivers deep in the heart of a rainforest. The Celeste River also borders several hot springs and has one large waterfall that falls into a magnificent and dazzling sky blue pool. It takes about an hour to hike to the waterfall from the park's entrance. © Flickr/Amir Appel
